Golf..... there are at least a dozen good quality public courses in the area. Green fees and club hire are very reasonably priced. The closest can be viewed here.

Horse riding..... 2 local stables offer tuition and hourly rides

Fishing..... several nearby lakes have excellent freshwater fishing. For sea fishing you can hire a boat and take off yourself or go on one of the organised trips and let the skipper find the best fishing spots.

Swimming..... closest sandy beach is at Pine Island, about 10 minutes away. River swimming is even closer and is great fun. If you want to try some snorkelling you can visit Crystal River where you may even come across a Manatee lazing in the warm waters.

Diving..... best spot for this is at Crystal River where they have facilities for those new to the sport and for the experienced. All the equipment you need can be hired locally.

Canoeing..... there are a couple of places locally where you can canoe in safety along slow moving rivers. This is an excellent way to see local wildlife up close in it's natural environment. For those too lazy to paddle back there are several places you can stop and they transport you back.

Water parks..... Weeki Wachee is 10 minutes away and has a number of water slides. There is also the famous 'mermaid' show several times a day.

State parks..... there are several of these in the area with a range of walking and other opportunities. Homassassa Springs is about 15 minutes away and you can see a wide range of native Floridian and other animals in a peaceful environment.
